EXCLUSIVE PODCAST PREMIERE FOR NEWSLETTER READERS!
Welcome to The Manager’s Playbook, my personal newsletter where I share insights, tips, and strategies for artist managers on how to navigate through the music business.
KEY PLAYS
I STARTED A PODCAST ABOUT THE MUSIC BUSINESS…
and it’s been a long time coming.
On Sunday, I’m premiering the debut episode of my new series called, “The Manager’s Playbook Podcast” on YouTube. The inaugural episode features one of the most incredible minds of the music business, the illustrious TROY CARTER.
HOWEVER!
I want to give exclusive access to the debut episode ft TROY CARTER to all of the readers of the TMP Newsletter. You can click on the link above for the full episode or click HERE.
I appreciate the support and community we’re building around this Newsletter so consider this my thank you.
Troy Carter & me for The Manager’s Playbook Podcast
The Truth is this
I’ve worked in the music business for 15 years mostly as an Artist Manager at high level. I’ve learned a thing or two over the last 15 years. For at least 6 of those years, I’ve strongly considered starting a podcast to share that thing or two about this overly (and unnecessarily) complexed business.
The newsletter was the first step. Once I realized how much of an appetite there was to get sound advice and lift “the proverbial veil” so to speak, I naturally found that a podcast was the second.
That’s why I’ll be hosting “The Manager’s Playbook Podcast” with some of the top executives, artist manager’s, producers in the business who have worked with some of our favourite artist.
And what better way to debut a podcast about the music business than a conversation with my mentor turned peer, the LEGENDARY Troy Carter.
The Notorious BIG & Troy Carter
Some of you who have been following The Manager’s Playbook Newsletter from the beginning had a chance to read an interview I did with Troy Carter. What most, if not all, didn’t know was that those were excerpts from a podcast episode we shot back then.
Troy was once an artist manager who catapulted talents like Lady Gaga and Eve from obscurity to superstardom. His portfolio also boasts managing the careers of John Legend, Priyanka Chopra, and Meghan Trainor, among others.
Holding various distinguished titles, from CEO & Founder of Atom Factory to Global Head of Creator Services at Spotify, Troy’s expertise spans far and wide. This expertise includes his keen eye for investment, which led him to early successes with start-ups such as Uber, Lyft, Dropbox, and Spotify.
Today, he runs and operates Venice Music with his Co-Founder, the brilliant Suzy Ryoo. Venice is a music distribution, artist services platform, and community that gives independent musicians the knowledge, network, and tools they need to achieve real growth on their terms.
Excited to share this exclusive with all of you.
